This is my first time tasting Bei Dou tea, and its flavor is completely different from other Wuyi Rock teas. The initial taste is woody, like the aroma of antique furniture, followed by herbal and plum notes. The flavor is unique, yet incredibly delicious.

It’s hard for me to get blown away by tea. This one was exceptional. Sweet, fruity, and aromatic. Progressed beautifully over 10+ gong fu steeps and held its head high.

What I like about this tea is the mental clarity one gets upon drinking it. The yan yun [rock rhythm] is solid and the flavor(s) is both complex and robust with a mouthfeel that's smooth, clean, and rounded. The Yellow Goddess of Mercy, Huang Guan Yin, which I had before in the past, cannot hold half a candle to this Jin Guan Yin.

I tried this tea after having tried a very high-end purple rose rock tea in Hong Kong. While similar in flavor profile, it is a bit more layered than delicate than the purple rose kind. It has a slight honey-sweetness in addition to the layered rose aroma that is very pleasant. Wpuld buy again.

This tea has a beautiful delicate high aroma. Very unique and perfumy but in the most enjoyable way.

Taste:

The Tianfen Qidan is very well-rounded, smooth, and clean in mouthfeel. Upon the first infusion it already offers mental clarity and coats the palate in natural sweetness. Typically I do not expect this for a tea's first infusion even with high-quality Qidan or Beidou.

The tea's energy is strong but gradual and it begins on the third brew. Each subsequent infusion(s) the tea becomes naturally sweeter and the tea energy becomes stronger as it envelops the whole body.

For those who are a fan of Da Hong Pao or Yancha in general, the Tianfen Qidan is a tea definitely worth trying.

A lovely little zisha teapot—well balanced, comfortable to hold, and pours smoothly. The size is perfect for solo gongfu sessions, and it brings out the character of the tea nicely. A great everyday pot that’s both simple and elegant.

The tea is fragrant and elegant, no sign of bitterness nor astringency, taste is mellow and slightly sweet, aroma takes me to the lush mountains. I advise you to set aside first three steeps(seperately) and to drink them last to experience and appreciate everything this tea has to offer.
