Fine zisha ware carries the spirit of time, and every refined teapot accompanies a peaceful tea life.
Tongxin She Tea House proudly presents the newly released Xiangyun Vermilion Clay Teapot, exquisitely handcrafted by Master Hui Xiangyun. Made from aged rare vermilion clay reserved personally by the master, fired at a precise kiln temperature of 1160℃, with a gentle and elegant capacity of 100cc, this artwork embodies noble craftsmanship, rare mineral quality and serene literati temperament. It is a refined daily brewing vessel, a collectible treasure, and a quiet companion for every tea lover who pursues elegance and peace.
Master Hui Xiangyun was born in 1968 in a century-old Yixing pottery family, inheriting the fine art of the great Ming-dynasty zisha master Hui Mengchen as the 15th-generation descendant. Growing up immersed in traditional pottery culture, he learned foundational craftsmanship from his father and further studied under many renowned contemporary zisha masters. With decades of dedicated practice and profound understanding of clay nature, kiln fire and vessel aesthetics, he is respectfully known among collectors as the “Folk Zisha Grandmaster”.
As early as the 1990s, Master Hui foresaw the gradual depletion of high-quality zisha mineral resources. At a time of unrestrained mining, he began carefully collecting and preserving top-grade aged clay materials, earning him the industry’s affectionate title “Clay Preservation Master”. Every teapot from his hands is never hastily produced. Each piece undergoes long-term conception and repeated refinement in proportion, lines and details. No mass-production roughness exists in his works — every stroke reveals rigorous, sincere and mature craftsmanship.
His artistic attainments have long been officially recognized and collected. His masterpiece Jade Rhyme Pot is permanently collected by Taoyuan Museum in Taiwan, and his Double Bamboo Pot is preserved by the Hong Kong Tea Ware Museum. He has also served as a professional creation instructor in major Yixing zisha factories, devoting his life to inheriting and promoting authentic Chinese zisha art. His works are widely acknowledged for high artistic taste and lasting collection value.
This Xiangyun Vermilion Clay Teapot adopts rare aged original vermilion clay from Huangshan Mountain, personally preserved by Master Hui. Different from ordinary market vermilion clay, this precious mineral has undergone years of natural ageing, removing raw earth roughness and achieving stable, mild and delicate clay texture.
Fired precisely at 1160℃, the ideal temperature for old vermilion clay, the teapot perfectly retains the natural dual-pore breathable structure of zisha. The pot body is compact, smooth and finely textured, presenting a gentle crimson gloss with quiet classical charm. With continuous brewing and careful maintenance, the pot will develop increasingly warm, lustrous patina, growing more elegant and vivid with time.
The classic 100cc capacity is perfectly tailored for peaceful single brewing or intimate tea sharing between two people. Compact, handy and graceful in silhouette, it suits daily leisure tea time, quiet meditation and simple elegant gatherings. We have taken a complete set of high-definition detailed photos, including full view, inner texture, spout structure, base seal and side lighting details, presenting every delicate handmade trace for your careful appreciation.
Aged Huangshan vermilion clay features outstanding fragrance-locking performance with mild and balanced breathability. It excellently elevates bright, aromatic tea flavours, fully releasing layered floral and fruity notes. It is most suitable for high-fragrance teas: high-roast Wuyi rock tea, old bush narcissus, cinnamon rock tea, Dahongpao, Phoenix Dancong and classic fragrant black teas such as Lapsang Souchong. Vermilion clay highlights crisp, lively aroma and sweet, smooth tea soup. It is less recommended for extremely aged heavy-bodied teas, as strong mature antique flavour may overlay the clay’s delicate aromatic expression.
This teapot carries a beautiful literati artistic conception:
“Accompanied only by noble minds, it embraces elegance far from mortal world vanity.”
This profound meaning interprets the temperament of true tea art. Elegant tea ware naturally attracts pure, refined and peaceful souls. It represents a quiet lifestyle that stays away from noisy triviality, pursues inner calm, and resonates only with like-minded noble tea lovers. To own this pot is to embrace elegance, peace and pure tea friendship.
Every handmade aged-clay teapot is a precious combination of rare mineral resources, precise kiln control and decades of artisan dedication.
Selected by Tongxin She Tea House, Master Hui Xiangyun’s new Xiangyun Vermilion Clay Teapot possesses rare clay quality, meticulous craftsmanship and elegant artistic charm. It serves perfectly for daily brewing, collection preservation and elegant gifting. In every quiet tea moment, it brings pure fragrance, inner peace and noble taste to your life.
