Wild White Tea - 2018
ORIGIN: Zhenghe, Fujian, China
DESCRIPTION: Located in Zhenghe County, Fujian Province, China, at an altitude of 1000-1200 meters, these tea plants were planted in the 1970s and 1980s and intentionally abandoned for various reasons: tea trees of 40-50 years old can grow naturally in the wild state without the need for human interaction/intervention; the cloudy mountain--which is away from the hustle and bustle of surrounding towns--allows for rapid, undisturbed growth of the tea plants, creating a superbly fresh quality tea that stays true to its nature; left alone from the forced spring tea harvest and processing allows the tea to develop its own wild, organic taste, thus encouraging the preservation of its indigenous aroma and flavor. This white tea captures the feeling of spring - light green grass, floral fragrance, with a naturally sweet, delectable taste. This tea is worthy of every tea lover's collection!
CHARACTERISTICS: The tea leaves are clean and well-formed, with one bud and two leaves comprising the body. When moistened, the leaves are tender, grey-green in color, lustrous, and dense in fragrance. The aroma is reminiscent of fresh high-mountain air, lush grass, and orchid blossoms. The taste is nectar sweet, yet mellow and earthy, and unfolds layers of nuanced sweetness throughout each steep.
