As the cold days settle in, there is a unique joy to be found in sipping tea alone by a warm stove. Tongxinshe Tea House is delighted to introduce its new winter release, the "Solo Tea Set". Crafted with a coral red glaze base, carved floral patterns, hand-painted details, and gilded accents, this set infuses moments of solitary tea enjoyment with a touch of Eastern elegance.
At the heart of the set lies a coral red glaze gaiwan (lidded bowl), with a 75mm diameter, 50mm height, 95cc capacity when filled to the edge of the lid, and an 80cc full-bowl capacity. Its body features a carved design of a crane holding plum blossoms, where the white glaze contrasts beautifully against the rich red base, bringing the crane’s layered feathers and the twisted plum branches to vivid life. The rim of the lid is delicately outlined with gold leaf, while the inside of the lid hides a hand-painted alum red pomegranate pattern, a traditional symbol of fertility and abundant blessings. As you hold the gaiwan and tilt it gently, the warm tea flows smoothly, releasing its aroma and filling the air with comfort.
Paired with the gaiwan is the "My Cup", which has a 74mm diameter, 50mm height, and 95cc capacity. The cup’s body is carved to reveal the characters "Winter Joy" (冬禧) in white glaze, with bold, fluid brushstrokes that blend the warmth of the coral red glaze with the clarity of the white characters. Holding it in your hands, the warmth of the cup and tea instantly soothes your heart. Whether you are savoring tea alone or sharing a light drink with friends, this cup perfectly embodies the gentle hopes of winter.
The entire set is housed in a compact 90mm × 90mm × 70mm leather case, made from fine-grained leather with neat stitching. It is lightweight enough to carry anywhere, allowing you to set up a serene tea session in the mountains or by a quiet stream at a moment’s notice. Also included is a free square tea towel with a traditional meander pattern and a tie closure. Made from soft, absorbent cotton and linen, it can be used to wipe away tea stains or as an elegant addition to your tea tray.
Drinking tea alone is never a sign of loneliness—it is a tender moment of conversation with yourself. As the warm glow of the coral red glaze shimmers in the tea, and the crane pattern unfolds in the light, you will discover that the most perfect tea ceremony is not found in the hustle and bustle, but in the quiet beauty of a single set of tea ware and a cup of steaming tea.
