As a distinguished treasure among Chinese oolong teas, Wuyi rock tea embodies the profound heritage of thousand-year-old tea culture. It dominates the tea industry with its unique elegant charm of rock bone and floral fragrance. Among diverse categories of Wuyi rock tea, Rou Gui stands out with its rich and sharp aroma, mellow taste and lasting sweet aftertaste, becoming a classic favored by tea lovers.

Today, Tongxin She Teahouse presents an outstanding premium tea — San Yang Feng Rou Gui, which won the Excellent Award in the 2025 Wuyi Rock Tea Competition. Rather than being launched immediately after the award, this tea was carefully aged for seven months before sale.

For the competition evaluation, it was roasted with medium-light fire. This delicate roasting technique allowed professional judges and tea tasters to fully capture the rich and vivid aroma characteristics of the tea. After winning the award, we conducted a precise secondary re-roasting to adjust it to medium fire. This craftsmanship perfectly integrates the floating fragrance into the tea liquor, creating a harmonious taste and greatly improving the tea’s storage resistance and aging potential.

Every procedure of this tea, from fresh leaf picking, withering, green-making, fixation, rolling to charcoal roasting, is personally and strictly controlled by the tea craftsman Gao Peng.

In his years of tea-making experience, the iconic “rock bone and floral fragrance” of Wuyi rock tea is never accidental. It is the perfect integration of superior mountain terroir and exquisite traditional craftsmanship. Tea trees growing in the core authentic rock producing area of Wuyi Mountains absorb abundant mineral essence from gravel soil. Polished by rigorous traditional handcrafts, they finally breed unique and unparalleled tea charm.

Rated as Grade One, this award-winning San Yang Feng Rou Gui is a high-quality authentic Wuyi rock tea. It contains pure Wuyi rock tea ingredients with no artificial additives at all, completely retaining the original and authentic flavor of the tea leaves.

The dry tea strips are tight, neat and glossy black-brown. It is wrapped in strong cassia fragrance mixed with layered fruit and floral notes, fresh and long-lasting.

After brewing with boiling water, the tea soup is bright orange and transparent, clear as amber. When smelling gently, the sharp and pure cassia aroma unfolds, accompanied by elegant layered compound fragrances of peach fruit and orchid. The rich aroma is gorgeous but not gaudy.

Sipping the tea, the taste is mellow, full and rich with prominent authentic rock rhyme. The sharp spicy sense and pure sweet mellowness blend perfectly on the tongue. It brings quick and lasting sweet aftertaste, long throat rhyme and continuous salivation in the mouth.

The brewed tea leaves present red edges and green cores with soft and tough texture, fully demonstrating the premium quality of fresh tea leaves and superb tea-making craftsmanship.

“Rock bone and floral fragrance, authentic Wuyi charm” — this sentence accurately summarizes the core characteristics of Wuyi rock tea.

For tea lovers, tasting this San Yang Feng Rou Gui is not only an enjoyment of the authentic “rock bone and floral fragrance” of Wuyi rock tea, but also an insight into the craftsman spirit of inheritance and ingenuity adhered to by tea maker Gao Peng, as well as the profound charm of Wuyi tea culture.
