In the fascinating world of tea varieties, there is a kind of tea known as "perfume in tea" - Phoenix Dancong. Its rich fragrance is like an agile elf, dancing lightly on the tip of the nose, instantly opening the hearts of countless tea lovers and making them deeply intoxicated. Phoenix Dancong belongs to the semi-fermented tea category. Its fragrance and charm are like a bird spreading its wings and soaring high, yet it cleverly maintains a refreshing feeling, just like the mountain breeze. No matter in spring, summer, autumn or winter, it has a unique charm when tasted in each season.
Today, Tongxin She Teahouse would like to recommend an extremely rare ancient tree Phoenix Dancong tea - "Shemen". Its name is very characteristic. It is because the old trees grow at the entrance of the tea garden (chá shè). Named after the location, it carries the memory of a place. This [Ancient Tree Shemen] has an extraordinary origin. It comes from the core production area along the center of Wudang Mountain. There, at an altitude of about 1000 meters, the high mountains are surrounded by misty clouds, just like a fairyland. The fertile soil provides sufficient nutrients for the tea trees.
The tea trees are even more precious. They are old trees with a tree age of more than 100 years. This is reflected in the tea soup as rich inner quality, full bush charm and a fresh high mountain aura. It was picked in March 2024. The good weather at that time laid a foundation for its quality. Coupled with thorough roasting, this tea has excellent quality and has withstood the test of time. Looking at its leaves, they are long, tight-knit and have a dark brownish-black and lustrous color. When we warm the cup and shake to release the fragrance, the aroma surges out like surging waves, stable and powerful. The sweet fragrance like honey and the rich fragrance of wild flowers are intertwined and fused, just like being in a spring field full of blooming flowers. It is full of natural atmosphere. Every wisp of fragrance is like a beautiful note composed by nature. The taste is light and lively, sweet and smooth. The aftertaste is long. The tea fragrance and sweetness linger in the mouth for a long time and are reluctant to disperse. Moreover, this tea has great potential. It can be stored further and wait for time to transform it into a more charming flavor.
