'Heng' Qinghui Duan Ni Yixing Zisha Teapot
DESCRIPTION: Made by Yixing artist, Li Hongyi, ‘Heng’ is inspired by Jin Shiheng, the founder of the pottery industry in China - its name is encased in meaning and homage. The shape of the pot, in fact, complements the character of Jin Shiheng, with its persistence and eternal lines. It expresses one’s intrinsic desire and persistence for simplicity and originality. This teapot’s form is simplistic and organic, yet its rough and wild atmosphere harkens back to the mountains and forests—a look and feel that is not contested by the world.
MATERIAL: Huanglongshan Qinghui Duan Ni raw ore, carefully refined following ancient traditions through 24-mesh filters with no modification of its original form, is fired in extremely high temperature, thus revealing a gorgeous cyan-gray. This clay’s unique texture truly echoes the wilderness’ vicissitudes, and after mindful maintenance for more than a month transforms to a glossy jade, with the coarseness of the sand adding intensity and charm to the vessel (see images #5-10).
CAPACITY: 150ml，7 holes out of water
