A single leaf, falling into the water, changed the taste of the water, and since then there has been tea. China is the hometown of tea, not only because the world's first tea tree was cultivated here, but also because tea has become a culture here. It definitely wouldn't be right to drink black tea according to the standards for green tea, or a dark tea following the standards for oolong tea. If we were to do so, we would just sigh and say "what a poor tea it is". Tea trees are sprouting every year, allowing us to taste more and more tea. If you focus on the key points of tea as you discover it more and more, you will be able to understand it.
In order to let more tea lovers understand Chinese tea, Tongxinshe Teahouse has launched this "Chinese Tea Discovery Set", a total of 10 Chinese teas, including six major categories of Chinese teas. The teas in this collection are made of good raw materials that undergo appropriate and skillful processing. Last but not least, we present teas with the standard quality characteristics of a given tea category, which will help you to establish the correct taste through savouring these teas. In the future it will also let you choose the tea that suits you best. The selection of teas in this collection is more suitable for beginners and casual tea drinkers as it will let them discover the standard taste characteristics of each main tea category. Although it is usually said there are six categories, in fact, there are seven major types of tea including reprocessed tea. We offer these teas in servings suitable for a gaiwan or teapot of 120 ml – you can just use the whole package without the need to weigh the tea. I made custom labels with precise brewing instructions. When brewing according to the method suggested on the label, you should be able to taste the characteristics of each tea.
Tea is classified based on the degree of fermentation: green tea, white tea, yellow tea, turquoise tea (oolong tea), black tea, dark tea, as well as flower tea, also known as "fragrant petals" (xiang pian), which is a tea made with flowers, leaves or fruits of plants other than tea. This is a kind of reprocessed tea unique to China.

Amazing collection

The teas included in this sample are of great quality and a great educational tool. I love that the TGY is slightly roasted and the inclusion of a jasmine green. Much love to the folks at TXS.
