Our 2026 Premium Sweet Osmanthus Longjing from Tongxin She has been fully crafted through the ripening of spring and autumn seasons and ancient, meticulous scenting techniques. It is ready, its fragrance fully developed.
The most refined tea flavour in the world lies in spring tea as its skeleton and autumn blossom as its soul.
For this tea, we carefully select pre-Ming Longjing Quntizhong from the core Manjuelong growing area as the tea base, blended with high-aroma mature sweet osmanthus from ancient trees in late autumn. We capture the most precious spring freshness and autumn charm of Jiangnan, condensing them within each single tea leaf. One cup of tea carries the scenery of two seasons — a supreme gift of time for tea lovers.
Since ancient times, scenting tea is all about striking the right balance.
Gu Yuanqing stated in Tea Manual of the Ming Dynasty: “Too many flowers create overpowering fragrance that overwhelms the tea character; too few flowers yield faint scent, failing to bring out its full beauty.”
The highest standard for sweet osmanthus Longjing is never to let floral aroma overpower the tea. Rather, the tea forms the backbone while blossoms lend fragrance; tea flavour serves as the foundation and osmanthus scent as its elegant charm.
Made with West Lake Longjing, ranked first among China’s Top Ten Famous Teas, scented with authentic sweet osmanthus from old trees. The refined tea aroma and gentle osmanthus fragrance blend harmoniously without outshining one another. Clean, sophisticated and mellow for repeated infusions, it embodies the authentic character of sweet osmanthus Longjing cherished by seasoned tea connoisseurs.
Autumn Blossom Base | Ancient-tree Sweet Osmanthus, Harvested for Pure Fragrance
For fine osmanthus-scented tea, fragrance must be pure, natural and lingering.
We select sweet osmanthus from well-aged trees in the orchard. Their aroma is steady, rich and full, unlike the thin, simple sweetness from young trees.
Following ancient custom, we hand-pick blossoms early in the morning while dew still clings to the branches. Large temperature swings between day and night at this hour lock in concentrated, stable aroma and abundant nutrients.
We only choose half-opened buds that are about to bloom. Each flower is manually trimmed to remove stems, faded petals and debris to eliminate raw, unwanted notes. This ensures the osmanthus releases its scent gradually and gently once blended with tea.
Immediately after harvesting, the osmanthus is frozen under precise low temperature to preserve its aromatic essence. Its moisture content is strictly controlled at around 4%.
This retains the natural sweet osmanthus flavour, prevents damp stale notes, and creates a pure aromatic foundation for the lengthy scenting process.
Spring Tea Base | Manjuelong Quntizhong, Pre-Ming Original Character
The tea base defines the depth and quality of the finished brew.
Our tea base originates from the core Manjuelong mountain plot within the Grade 1 West Lake Longjing Protection Zone. Harvested on April 3, during the precious pre-Ming window, it is Longjing Quntizhong, also known as Old Tea Bush.
Different from grafted varieties, Quntizhong is the native ancient cultivar of West Lake Longjing. Deep-rooted and nourished by mountain minerals, it carries rich mountain charm, natural wild sweetness and delicate silky texture. It is a rare premium Longjing with genuine traditional character.
Every leaf is hand-plucked and hand-roasted by experienced tea artisans following classic Longjing processes: fixation and final firing, locking in all the fresh vitality accumulated by tea bushes through spring.
The dried tea is stored in a constant-temperature cold warehouse. Before scenting, we take it out and let it rest naturally for 24 hours, adjusting the tea moisture to approximately 4%.
This ideal humidity fully opens the pores of tea leaves, granting exceptional capacity to absorb, retain and preserve fragrance. The aroma penetrates deep into the tea body instead of merely resting on the surface, sustaining scent across multiple steepings.
Ancient Jar Scenting | 15–20 Days Slow Maturation, Tea and Blossoms Merge as One
Fine fragrance cannot be rushed; only time brings complete harmony.
The prepared Longjing tea base and ancient-tree osmanthus are mixed evenly in the golden scenting proportion and left to awaken their combined aroma for 2 to 3 hours.
Then, following ancient craft, we layer dried tea and osmanthus alternately inside sealed pottery jars with quicklime.
Quicklime naturally stabilises humidity, prevents moisture damage and aids maturation. Within this quiet, stable microclimate, the blend ripens slowly over 15 to 20 days.
No rushed production, no shortcuts, no artificially amplified machine fragrance.
The tea gently absorbs the honeyed autumn scent of osmanthus, while floral aroma permeates the fresh spring tea leaves. Weeks of quiet maturation soften raw and harsh notes. Tea holds floral scent and flowers accentuate tea character, achieving this supreme balanced profile.
Finished Tea Character | Sip Spring and Autumn, Elegant Lingering Aroma
