I’m Jon from Tongxin She Teahouse, a passionate tea seeker who’s always chasing authentic flavors. This winter of 2025, my most cherished surprise is the custom "Anxiang Da Hong Pao" co-created with Master Wang Guoxing – a cup of tea embodying traditional craftsmanship that I’m honored to share with every tea lover who appreciates true quality.
For those who understand Da Hong Pao, roasting is the soul of rock tea. This "Anxiang" adopts medium-high roasting craft, adhering to the ancient wisdom of "tea as the lord, fire as the minister." Under Master Wang’s personal supervision, the tea leaves are slowly roasted at low temperature, allowing them to fully absorb the fire’s essence without any harshness – a testament to the senior tea master’s profound skills. The dry tea is dark brown and glossy, with tight, uniform strips. A gentle twist between the fingers reveals its condensed texture, as if locking the aura of Wuyi Mountain’s danxia rock walls and the warmth of time.
The moment boiling water is poured, the tea aroma unfolds layer by layer. The liquor starts as deep orange-yellow, like the winter sun pouring into the cup; turns clear orange-yellow in the middle, with a richer taste; and becomes bright orange-yellow in the later stage, fully displaying the rock rhythm. The layered taste is even more enchanting: the front note offers soft caramel sweetness blended with ripe fruit aromas, and the saliva-stimulating sensation spreads instantly on the tongue; the middle note is smooth and full-bodied, with floral and fruit notes interweaving with sweetness, as the tea soup glides down the throat like silk; the aftertaste is long-lasting, with a thick, glutinous and delicate texture accompanied by elegant floral fragrances. The wet leaves are dark brown, glossy, soft and elastic – the best proof of high-quality raw materials and exquisite roasting craft.
Master Wang often says that the true essence of Da Hong Pao lies in "hiding to reveal authenticity." What makes this tea most touching is its strong physical response – shortly after drinking, warmth spreads from the lower abdomen to the whole body, eventually turning into fine sweat on the palms. This is an intuitive manifestation of rock tea’s warm nature and rich nutrients, as well as a unique experience endowed by traditional charcoal roasting craft. Every sip reflects traditional heritage and the temperature of craftsmanship, truly a classic of Tongxin She Teahouse.
To let more tea friends experience this craftsmanship, we specially launch a tasting set – 1 box with 2 bags, just enough for you to savor the true rock rhythm. As Christmas approaches, the benefits can’t be missed: place an order for the "Anxiang Da Hong Pao" tasting set from now on, and Tongxin She Teahouse will give away a limited-edition Christmas gift box for free, containing 6 different selected teas from the teahouse, allowing you to unlock diverse tea flavors at once.
After years of seeking tea, the happiest thing is to share truly good tea with like-minded people. This cup of "Anxiang Da Hong Pao" hides the terroir of Wuyi Mountain, Master Wang’s craftsmanship, and my sincerity for tea. This winter, why not brew a pot, and feel the warmth and healing of body and mind in the caramel sweetness and rock floral aromas.
Looking forward to your encounter with "Anxiang," and understanding the "hiding" and "authenticity" of Da Hong Pao between the cups.
