Many old tea drinkers who like Dancong may not have drunk Shilixiang. This variety. This variety is rare in the market, and it is even rarer to be able to drink it satisfactorily. Next, let’s learn about Shilixiang Dancong together.
The story of Shilixiang Dancong Tea can be traced back to Wu Liuqi’s cultivation of tea gardens in Fenghuang Mountain in the Qing Dynasty. Later, in 1967, Shilixiang Dancong Tea also had a story about the fragrance of tea floating ten miles in Fenghuang.
In the place of Dayan Village in Fenghuang Mountain, under the careful planning of Wu Liuqi, the chief military officer of Raoping Town in the Qing Dynasty, a large number of soldiers and migrant workers were mobilized to build a building with two front and back buildings, three wings with a mountain gate, and left and right corridors (a total of forty-five The Taiping Temple in the middle) lasted for four years and cost 3,300 taels of silver. It was completed in Gengzi, Shunzhi, Qing Dynasty, and caused a sensation inside and outside Raoping County and surrounding areas. On the day of the Taiping Temple celebration, the incense was very strong, and congratulatory gifts and worship were sent from all directions, and the mountain people in Wudongding were no exception, and they sent a lot of fragrant tea to show their piety.
At noon, Wu Liuqi and the presiding monk of Taiping Temple held a tea banquet for the monks, laymen and mountain people. The guests and hosts walked into the living room and saw the decorations on the table. They were all surprised. In the past, there were gruel and vegetables, or fruit and sugar. Today, a bowl of orange tea soup and a plate of fried tea oil are placed in front of everyone. Green tea leaves and two bowls of shiny white rice. This unique tea banquet is said to have been arranged and hosted by Master Huiyuan of Luofu Mountain Sumoan Temple. He used finished tea and green leaves sent by the people of Wudingding Mountain as raw materials. When everyone was wondering, Wu Liuqi said enthusiastically: "Is today's banquet unusual? This is a delicacy made of Wudongding fragrant tea, which is more precious than Yuye Qiongjiang, bird's nest shark's fin, and bear's paw ginseng. I have heard about Phoenix tea in the past. It can prolong life and longevity, and the tea banquet held today to celebrate the completion of the temple is even more joyful and peaceful. Therefore, I invite you all to join in." After that, he waved his hand to signal the monks and guests to take their seats. Everyone sat down one by one in order and tasted it slowly; the fragrant white rice, fragrant tea vegetables, and sweet tea soup were extraordinarily attractive and fresh. Everyone was amazed and praised, and some even expressed their "unforgettable" feelings.
In the afternoon, Wu Liuqi bid farewell to the monks and laymen, led the soldiers to leave Taiping Temple, and marched across the mountains to Raoping County. On the way, he stopped to take a rest at Maosi Temple. Wu Liuqi happily talked to the city guard Ye Ye about the characteristics of the tea banquet and the characteristics of Phoenix tea. Ye Ye rushed to say that he had traveled Qili Mountain Road and there was still some tea left in his mouth. Aftertaste, the flavor of tea remains in the throat, so this tea should be named "Qilixiang". Wu nodded approvingly, and said that they had already traveled ten miles through mountains and rivers, so they should be called "Ten Miles of Fragrance". After hearing this, everyone clapped their hands and said in agreement: "Yes, 'Shilixiang Dancong Tea'!" Wu also told everyone that he had ordered the presiding monks to plant tea on the hillside behind Taiping Temple, just to plant this tea. "Ten Mile Fragrance", let the tea fragrance of Taiping Temple spread for ten miles.
Sure enough, in the first year of Kangxi (AD 1662), Wu Liuqi donated 80 taels of silver from his salary and purchased a total of 99 acres of mountainous land around Dayan Village (from Wugutai Shigu to Daping Village), and sent soldiers and hired migrant workers to cultivate tea gardens. , and plant a variety of Shilixiangdancong tea. Due to fine management, the tea garden presents a thriving scene.
