When the spring tea season in 2022 is coming to an end, the green tea "Taiping Houkui" that tea lovers have been waiting for is finally ushered in.

Taiping Houkui, one of the top ten famous teas in China, stands out among the green teas with its flat shape and elegant orchid fragrance. Taiping Houkui is mainly produced in Xinming, Huangshan District, Anhui Province. There are three core production areas: Houkeng, Houkui  Gang and Yan's family, today's Taiping Houkui comes from Hougang.  The climate in this area is mild and humid, surrounded by forest vegetation. "When it is sunny, it is foggy in the morning and evening, and the mountains are full of clouds when it is cloudy and rainy." It is a very high-quality tea environment.  The tea gardens are distributed in the middle and low mountains above 400 meters. The soil is mostly black sandy loam. The soil layer is deep and rich in organic matter. Different from the medium and small leaf species of ordinary green tea, the variety of Taiping Houkui is persimmon tea tree, and the dried tea made is often  It can reach 4~6 cm, and its fresh leaves are generally picked for more than ten days around April 20. After a longer time, the tea trees mature and germinate, and the content is naturally richer. This tea was first picked on April 18.  , according to the standard of "one bud and three leaves" to manually pick the tip, and the production process is in accordance with the traditional method.  The whole process from picking to fixing, shaping, and baking is hand-made, which not only tests the skill of the tea maker, but also requires energy and patience.  The root tea leaves are straight and neatly laid on the sieve, covered with a layer of sieve, clamped between the upper and lower sieves, and then gently rolled with a wooden roller until the leaves are flat and straight.  This process is like the rolling step of other processes. The tea juice is pressed out to remove the bitterness, creating the sweetness of Taiping Houkui. The dried tea has two leaves or three leaves to report buds, flat and straight, green and even in color, with hidden pekoe.  , Casting 3~5g of tea, it is recommended to use a straight glass cup or a fair cup, which is conducive to the stretching of the tea leaves and is also convenient for viewing the leaves.  After brewing, the color of the soup is clear and bright, the buds and leaves slowly stretch, and stand up into flowers, either hanging or sinking.  The bottom of the leaves is green and bright, and the buds and leaves are plump.

brewing method:

Tea container: glass (200ml)

Amount of tea: 3~5g dry tea

Brewing water: pure water, mountain spring water

I very rarely leave any review, but I am compelled to review this item. Amazing tea! I discovered Vadham teas a little over a year ago when I came across their Chai sampler. I loved it so much, I ordered it again. My husband and I found that our favorite flavors were the Sweet Cinnamon and the Original Masala, so we decided, this time, to order both in bulk. I haven't been disappointed yet. Delicious tea, easy to make. I am grateful that they added the instructional video because I was adding the milk too soon and had to constantly watch out for over-boiling. Now it's so easy to make that I brew a pot daily for myself and my husband. My mom ordered the English breakfast and says it's fabulous, so I just ordered their black tea sampler as well. I even got a neighbor hooked as well.

For ages I loved a fresh cup of coffee better than food, but I had to curtail drinking it. I tried different chai products looking for a replacement, but Vahdam's the one for me. I've been a Vahdam chai patron now for over a year. It's always fresh with (a spoon of honey for me) a burst of flavor, no I'm not being paid to say this 😆! I go through about 3lbs a year, a cup in the AM and a cup in the PM, hits the spot!

I've never tried Vahdam teas before, but I am interested in supporting an India-based company. This tea is very high-quality, and you can taste it! It is different from other Assam teas that I've tasted in that the level of maltiness actually varies with the length of steeping. I prefer a very malty tea, so I steep it for a long time, but it is very interesting that if you wanted a less malty cuppa, you could get it with this tea! My only objection is that there is no indication of fair trade or ethical sourcing on the package, which is usually my litmus test for fairly sourced products. Great tea!

these wonderfully scented tea leaves make a beautiful red, bright, clear cup. I like strong tea with raw sugar, and you can't find a better combination than this (I like to brew it half and half with the Vahdam Assam CTC as well). I appreciate the care, time and effort that went into the production of this fine tea; and for its quality, the price is really excellent.

THE BEST TEA I'VE HAD SINCE I WAS IN INDIA!!!! ❤❤❤
I have been searching for a masala chia like I had in India. Everything I've tried was awful! I saw this tea on Amazon, and didn't have a lot of hope, but decided to give it a go. The second I opened the bag, I was so excited and happy, I poured a bunch of it un a bag and went over to my Indian friends house and showed it to her. She was so excited she asked me to get one for her. This all happeneded before we even made tea out of it! I know what I'm getting all of my Indian friends for the Holidays!
