DESCRIPTION: Longjing tea is a famously traditional, ranking first among the top ten famous teas in China. With a history of over 1,200 years, Longjing is produced in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, originating in the Song Dynasty from Han tea farmers. Rich in nutrients, Longjing 'Dragonwell' tea contains more amino acids and chlorophyll than any other Chinese tea available! ‘Pre-Ming’ Longjing in West Lake is usually picked before Qing-Ming, a slightly inferior variant to that of "Pre-rain tea".
To produce 500g of Longjing constitutes to 180,000 tender buds, roughly 60 hours of careful picking by tea pickers, with an additional total of 5 kg of fresh buds picked mechanically, and hand-fried for a total of 5 hours. Longjing frying process, through picking, pushing, killing green, moisture regain, glow pot, screening, long head, stacking, ash collection and other nearly 20 processes, took 15 days to complete the production.
CHARACTERISTICS: Longjing has a very simple appearance: flat, straight, dry, neat, and smooth. Light-green in color, with the aroma of dried green peas. Its tea soup is clear, yellow, and bright, with a mouthfeel of freshness, mellowness, and a subtle thickness. When the leaves are fully opened, the rich, quintessential Longjing fragrance overflows the entirety of the drinker's cup.
