Wuyi Mountain is located at the junction of the two provinces of Jiangxi and northwestern Fujian. The total area of the southeast foot of the northern section of the Wuyi Mountains is 999.75 square kilometers. It is a typical Danxia landform. Among them, the Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area on the east side of the Wuyi Mountains has a total area of about 79 square kilometers.  In the scenic area, a variety of rocks such as granite, volcanic lava, sand shale and metamorphic rocks form a piece of land that is extremely suitable for the growth of tea.  Wuyi Rock Tea takes root and multiplies on this land. Among the many varieties of Wuyi Rock Tea, Wuyi Rou Gui ranks among the top teas of Wuyi Rock Tea with its unique taste. When I returned to the Wuyi Mountain Rock Tea Competition last month  During a tea tasting with a tea friend, a tea friend asked: "Can Rou Gui taste like Lao Cong Shui Xian? Or is it Lao Cong Rou Gui?" In fact, Rou Gui does exist with  Tea trees that are as old as Lao Cong Shui Xian are not called Lao Cong Rou Gui in the native Wuyi Mountains, but Rou Gui as the old tree Rou Gui.

PS: lnstagram software articles have a limited number of words, so I will write the remaining articles in the comment area, and interested tea friends can read it.

Then I believe there is a tea-friendliness, what is Rou Gui?

In the early 1980s, tea mountain was produced in each household. Tea farmers followed the pace of the government and vigorously planted improved varieties: Rou Gui. Rou Gui, developed from Ming Cong, became one of the main cultivated varieties in Wuyi Mountain at that time. It has been more than 40 years since then.  There is a question, whether the Rou Gui trees in Wuyi Mountain were all about 40 years old when the planting of Rou Gui was promoted in the early 1980s?  In fact, under the constraints of the economic level at that time, even if the tea industry is vigorously developed, the planting area of tea trees is still small, not to mention the Rou Gui species. Most of the Rou Gui trees planted in Wuyi Mountain today are 5 to 15 years old.  Around 40 years old, the tree only accounts for a small part. Therefore, the 40-year-old Rou Gui is called the old tree Rou Gui by tea farmers. What are the characteristics of the old tree Rou Gui?

Let’s talk about the aroma of Rou Gui. Rou Gui is in the early stage of growth from 1 to 7 years. The polyphenols, amino acids and other aromatic substances in tea are relatively high. The quality of tea is characterized by floral and tender aroma, but relatively tenderness.  High tea has a slightly bitter taste; Rou Gui, which is 8-15 years old, is in a period of vigorous growth, and the tea contains relatively rich aromatic and nutrient components. The quality characteristics of tea are characterized by rich aroma and high freshness. The top-grade cinnamon  The aroma is obvious, the taste is mellow, and the taste is more layered. As the age of the tea tree grows, the content of aromatic substances decreases, and the quality characteristics of the tea are more expressed as the original flavor of Rou Gui, that is: the fragrance of cinnamon, the floral fragrance is reduced.  The lower Rou Gui varieties have obvious characteristics, thick taste, strong, and rich layering. The taste and sweet surprise are impressive, but they are too domineering and the tea soup is not delicate enough. The tea soup of the old tree Rou Gui is more mellow.  Longer, the change of layering is more natural and calm.  Having shared so much knowledge about the old tree Rou Gui, do you tea lovers want to try the old tree Rou Gui?

So this year, my website www.txs-tea.com will sell the old tree Rou Gui from Zheng Yan production area in a limited amount. If you are interested in tea lovers, you can buy a trial package, 16.6g two packs and a small box, Rou Gui and tea trees in Wuyishan  In the mountains and rivers, through the four seasons of spring and autumn, with the precipitation of time and the transformation of its own internal substances, the original characteristics of its own varieties brew a natural taste. With a sip, the taste of time and vegetation will dissolve in the mouth.  wonderful.

Noble tea

Taste is mellow but rich at the same time. Slightly toasty flavor. Somehow, it makes you expect the flavor going into tannin notes but no, no tannin. The tea leaves the palate clean and happy. Stopped counting flashes after the 12-th flash.

An exceptional tea so smoothly distracting

An exceptional tea so smoothly distracting, bursting with flavour and, the perfect, if pricey, pick up.
There is nothing bitter about this tea which has a more muted cinnamon fragrance as it is from 40-year-old trees planted in the 1980s.

Bitterness in Rou Gui (肉桂) is a good indication it comes from younger tea shrubs. That slight bitterness dissipates as the bushes mature and develop a more symbiotic relationship with the Wiyu terroir.
Flavour dominates with a deep taste, strong and richly layered but always mellow. The sweetness is simply wonderful with a noticeable malt and a rock charm that is both mineral and mossy.
Would add this to any list of teas worth trying. A nice calm Qi with all the power of a warm loving embrace. It will get your heart pumping.
